summer trip to bend (and paul simon)

i flew to bend in june to go see laurel, liz, and courtney--my three good friends from high school. as i waited for the plane to fly out, i admired this man's cactus boots.

after i flew in, laurel, liz, and i went to lunch and then on a fun hike in this beautiful state park just outside of bend.

 these flowers smelled amazing.

the ripples from an animal. probably a muskrat.

this was the nice smelling flower.

a passion fruit dessert i ate.

we all went to see paul simon perform! it was so so fun. we had to wait awhile to get into the venue.

here we are inside with the sun down. while the sun was still out it was hot.

he put on a great show, and we got to hear a lot of his greatest solo hits and a few simon and garfunkel songs.

the next day, i went to church, and then we all went on a short walk by the deschutes river.

i had a good time but somehow lost my favorite peace necklace (the my brother brought back from chile in about 1992) and a carved shell necklace that a friend made and gave me. that was really disappointing to me.

some pics of mt bachelor. laurel and i went out to see it on sunday.
