spain part 3 - granada / alhambra

this is actually a restaurant we saw in madrid. i thought it was funny as i wasn't sure why you'd name a restaurant after a us state that, honestly, isn't all that famous. but it was where brian was born--so it's famous in our household.

we took a bus from madrid to granada.

once we got into our hotel, we wandered around granada. it is a beautiful city.

the food wasn't great here, but we loved the tiles. and there was a strange fight that broke out in the street right in front of the place. we weren't sure what the fight was about, but it was a bit exciting.

 the entrance to the alhambra.

oh i do love wrought iron.

figs! just growing on the side of the road.

we saw lots of nice succulents while we were there.

 lovely, lovely.

b's finger pricked by an orange. citrus trees have lots of thorns.

washington irving's own statue at the alhambra.
