day two was mostly hiking around the komodo national park, but we did get in one snorkeling spot. and it was an interesting one. the water wasn't as clear as some spots we went to, but we saw some interesting creatures and some good coral.
we saw lots of small fish.
a good head shot of roland.
me and s.
now that's clear! look at that. that seaweed looks like branches from an evergreen tree.
cool fish.
our first sea snake! they're poisonous--so we didn't get too close.
a cool, big puffer/goby type fish. i always like seeing these kind of fish.
we saw a turtle!
and then it darted off into the oblivion.
w diving.
a cool lion fish. i know they're not good, but they are striking.
some good shots of s.
a close-up of cathy.
another turtle.
another sea snake. we saw about four on this one outing.
me clearing out my equipment...
...and looking around above water for a moment.
brother, if that doesn't look like utah, it's hard to imagine what does.
our gauzy boat from the shore. after we finished snorkeling, we walked along the low tide shore.
it's like we're in a dream.
this beach was strange. we saw lots of things we were not used to seeing on the beach.
a very strange creature with long tentacle-like appendages.
a different kind of star fish.
one on top of the other.
b also almost stepped on another strange creature that we didn't get a picture of. it seemed like one that could do some damage--so we were grateful he didn't step on it.
