let it be for me and b! i love this picture.

w holding the summer sausage s gave him for christmas. w discovered a new food he likes.

our new dead horse point painting hung up on christmas day.

also on christmas day we went to go see the final hobbit movie. it was entertaining as usual. it continued to snow during the day, so driving back with a little hairy. but there aren't many cars out--so we did just fine. for christmas dinner we had hamburgers and then left over tres leches for dessert. so good!

the day after christmas, i took down all of the christmas decorations. i got a b in my bonnet and decided to just take it all down. with the extra space we had room for b and s to dance (berdansa) to the mamas and the papas.

on the saturday after christmas we decided to drive up to antelope island. we had never been there before but were pleasantly surprised by how fun it was.

as we were driving along the causeway onto the island, we saw three coyotes. super cool!

we went to the visitor's center and looked out the window to see lots and lots of chukars. chuckars are such cool birds.

 such striking features.

we pulled off and got out and walked around. but brrrrr it was cold.

we walked out to the shoreline.

w next to a really big and rusty buoy.

we saw several deer--including some with antlers.

we hiked up a short trail to a neat rocky overlook of the area.

some snapshots of all of us amidst the rocks.

there are also bison on the island--we enjoyed seeing the big herds.

then, as if we hadn't seen enough cool animals, we saw two great horned owls in this tree. how cool is that?

on the way out of the park we saw another coyote.

the following week, we had another day or two with quite a bit of snow. w and s played in it. w built a snow cave.

 s made snow angels.

w and i went sledding at the school a few times. here's the first time.

s went with us another one of the sledding outings.

on new year's eve, as b already documented, we got together with some friends and had a great night. here are a few more pictures (where you can see faces and bodies) of that night.

on new year's day, we went over to my mom's house for breakfast. my brothers ross and kyle and their families were there too. the biscuits and the pistachio pate were so great! later on that day, we went on a neighborhood family walk and watched the old disney classic the shaggy dog. it was a fun day.
