below are some of the highlights from the holidays.
me holding an old post card b gave to me of north bend. it says easter greetings from north bend, ore.
b holding the gift s gave him. it's a lovely card of a cactus blossom. s wrote a sweet note to her daddy inside.
me lying in front of the dead horse point painting b gave for christmas. an original oil painting we found on ksl.
s holding up her gifts from grandma leslie: a byu t-shirt, a byu hat, byu fuzzy socks, and a byu sock money sierra attached to her backpack.
me holding up another original oil painting that b gave me. this one is of nb/cb ore. it was a true oregon christmas!
also on christmas day we went to go see the final hobbit movie. it was entertaining as usual. it continued to snow during the day, so driving back with a little hairy. but there aren't many cars out--so we did just fine. for christmas dinner we had hamburgers and then left over tres leches for dessert. so good!
the day after christmas, i took down all of the christmas decorations. i got a b in my bonnet and decided to just take it all down. with the extra space we had room for b and s to dance (berdansa) to the mamas and the papas.
on the saturday after christmas we decided to drive up to antelope island. we had never been there before but were pleasantly surprised by how fun it was.
we went to the visitor's center and looked out the window to see lots and lots of chukars. chuckars are such cool birds.
then, as if we hadn't seen enough cool animals, we saw two great horned owls in this tree. how cool is that?
the following week, we had another day or two with quite a bit of snow. w and s played in it. w built a snow cave.
on new year's eve, as b already documented, we got together with some friends and had a great night. here are a few more pictures (where you can see faces and bodies) of that night.
on new year's day, we went over to my mom's house for breakfast. my brothers ross and kyle and their families were there too. the biscuits and the pistachio pate were so great! later on that day, we went on a neighborhood family walk and watched the old disney classic the shaggy dog. it was a fun day.
