more time in potsdam

i toured the new palace while b was busy with his presentations. i raved about it so much that he wanted to go too. so i got to go twice and b once. it was amazing. i guess these pictures aren't of the new palace--i'll need to find those pictures. this post is about the orangerie mostly--another palace of frederick the great.

touring the palaces here really gave us an appreciation for the rococo style--especially the architectural style. frederick the great loved it, and it's clear to see why. it is gorgeous, ornate, and very naturalistic (at least his take on it was, which we liked).

 a few selfies of us.

 oh no! even in germany.

b fell in love with these potted citrus plants. we are hoping to get some for ourselves.

we went back into town to get dinner. we opted for a curryworst.

 they were pretty good.

then it started to rain. kami kehujanan!

the two of us waited out the rain in a small front door alcove for probably 15 minutes. it's nice to be stuck with someone you like!
