miscellaneous summer pictures

i was cleaning under the fridge and found this old picture of ray ray.

we enjoyed our blooming cactuses during the summer!

what's lovlier than a cactus blossom.

 hot pink.

we gave whitney's girls one of the many silver bangles i got for our anniversary. here's maddie showing me her bracelet.

my cock of the rock print in process.

 finished!

we got this butter container so we could quit buying margarine in plastic tubs. among the less plastic among the more better.

our raspberries were so great this year! we enjoyed the full harvest. it was so fun to go out each day to pick them. you'll notice that b also built cattle guard growing a-frames. he planted eggplants under this one. we ate the most delicious eggplant parmesan with one of them!

we had a good blackberry harvest too! and b put in more cattle guard frames in the back too. we also got mulch laid down and a rock path. it looks great! next spring we'll plant grapes, gooseberry bushes, and maybe kiwis.

we also planted some strawberries, which are everbearing so we've been enjoying them from about june until now (october)! we'll plant more next year.

one saturday i used up some old shells i collected in north carolina and made a couple windchimes with them.

we have some friends who make a baking business over the covid times, and we started ordering their sourdough pizza crust. we have enjoyed a lot of delicious homemade pizza.

we even had a pizza pig out week--where we ate a different kind of pizza for 7 days in a row. that was fun!

we have three fig trees, one of which gave us a couple figs.

it was good. hopefully, they'll survive the winter.

there was a hawk in our neighbor's yard one day, and i got a series of pictures.

i made my first fabric print. a quail!

s and i made a welcome home sign for b when he came home from his week-long yellowstone canoeing trip with his dad.

we picked up some sacred datura seeds when we were in the bears ears area in may. b planted them not sure what would happen. they thrived and gave us many beautiful flowers. the sacred datura flower opens up in the late evening (around 9pm) and by the following morning is already waning. we would go out each night to check on them for a couple weeks to catch their blooms. they are so lovely.

i also took some night pictures of some of our other yard plants. this one is in an old rusty can we found out in the mountains around eureka.

our escalante potatoes! we got a good harvest this fall--probably 10x more than last years.

s got her braches on this summer. with b getting covid, s's braces had to go on hold for a few weeks, but she got them eventually. she was so excited to get her braces on.

s happy to try on my old letterlady's jacket. 8 letters, not too shabby.

s ordered a sloth jumpsuit online and has enjoyed wearing it.
