we took a nice trip up to the puncak a couple days ago. that took us into the mountains outside of jakarta. the traffic was bad up and back, but it was worth it for how lovely it was up there.
this was where richard wright came in 1955. the home is still owned by the famous indonesian writer/intellectual who owned it back in 1955--that writer's daughter, tamalia, took us up there.

Good to see at Richard Wrights! Pucak is so nice. Sounds like the traffic to get there hasn't improved. But the mountains and cooler temps make it so worth it. Have fun!
