oh those summer fruits
i had a honeydew this morning--and it was so good. one of my favorite things about summer is the amazing fresh fruit you can get (not to mention the vegetables). but i have to say i'm especially partial to fruit.
the first time i had a honeydew i thought it was disgusting--but i think it must have been really over ripe. anyway now i think they're just heavenly. and they're so unassuming from the outside--they don't have that immediate zing that a pineapple or mango has.
if you haven't had one in a while i would strongly recommend that you pick one up.

normally a fan of the cantaloupe, you have given me reason to give the honey dew another chance.
that's what i would have said a few days ago too--but it's time to give a chance. really all i am saying is "give 'dews a chance."
If you haven't ventured beyond the traditional melons (water, canteloupe, honeydew) you really should. The best ones out there are casaba, canary, crenshaw, and santa claus melons. Look for them at your local, maybe slightly upscale, supermarket--your Harris Teeter instead of your Krogers; your Albertsons instead of your Maceys.
ha thanks for including the west coast stores...for there is no harris teeter out here.
